View Full Version : Wireless or wired internet?
I am a big fan of wiring all my electronics. I don't have a wireless keyboard/mouse nor do I run on a wireless connection. If I had a laptop, I'd probably setup a wireless router.
I have a wireless router. It's truly the best. I love bringing my laptop into my TV room, dining room, or whatever. It's just nice to always be connected.

I have two wireless routers. The problem is I'm not a fan of WEP and I've got quiet a few neighbors who happen to like my wireless. After this weekend though the whole network will be MAC filtered, so bye bye to that.
Our dorms are "wireless," but its slower to Ethernet and is quirky (for example, if my laptop goes to sleep, when I want to get back online I have to enter a username/password in a browser). Ethernet on the other hand is fairly fast, even if everyone on campus is hogging the bandwidth with porn and music downloads.
I'm also ready to throw my wireless keyboard out the window. It frustrates me sometimes.

I agree with you about wireless keyboards. If you don't need it (I use one for my HTPC), then they are basically just annoying battery burners.

We use wired cable modem at my house. None of us have laptops, so there's no reason for wireless.
All of the computers we have here are wireless, using 802.11g cards.
No wireless for me. I Actually read somewhere wireless isnt that safe. Something to the extent that someone from outside your home could access you pc or tap into you connection to dl and what not. Something like that anyway, its been a minute since i read it and wasnt really worried cuz i didnt have it.
